Cousin Charlie's Construction ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you use this website (ccc123.net) or contact us about a project, what we do with that information, and what choices you have about it.

This policy is written in plain English. If anything's unclear, contact us using the info at the bottom and we'll explain it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect two kinds of information.

Information you give us directly

When you fill out the contact form on our website or email or call us, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • Your city or service location
  • Details about the project you're asking about
  • Anything else you choose to share with us in messages or conversation

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, basic technical information is logged by our web host (GitHub Pages), including:

  • Your IP address
  • The pages you visit and when
  • What browser and device you're using
  • The website that referred you (if any)

This information is standard server log data and is not used to identify you personally.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you give us to:

  • Respond to your estimate request or question
  • Schedule a site visit or consultation
  • Send you a proposal, contract, or project communications
  • Carry out work you've hired us to do
  • Send you updates about your active project
  • Follow up after a project is finished

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it. We do not share it with advertisers or marketing companies.

3. Who We Share Your Information With

We share your information only with these parties, and only for the reasons listed:

Form processor

Our contact form is processed by Formspree. When you submit the form, Formspree receives the form data and forwards it to us by email. Formspree has its own privacy policy at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.

Email provider

Our business email is forwarded through Namecheap and delivered to a Gmail inbox. This means Namecheap and Google touch the email content in the course of delivering it to us.

Web host

Our website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs basic visit information as described above. GitHub's privacy policy applies to that data.

Legal requirements

We will share information if required by law (such as a court order or government request), or if necessary to investigate fraud, protect our rights, or protect someone's safety.

Business transfers

If Cousin Charlie's Construction is ever sold, merged, or restructured, customer information may transfer to the new owner as part of that transaction.

4. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your information for as long as we need it to run our business and complete the work you've hired us to do, plus any time required by Texas tax, accounting, or contractor record-keeping rules. After that, we delete it on a routine basis.

If you contact us about a project but don't end up hiring us, we typically delete your information within 12 months. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask what we have on you. Email us and we'll tell you what information we're holding.
  • Ask us to correct it. If something we have is wrong, let us know and we'll fix it.
  • Ask us to delete it. Unless we have a legal reason to keep it (active contract, tax records, etc.), we'll remove it.
  • Opt out of communications. If you don't want us to contact you anymore, just tell us and we'll stop.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information at the bottom of this page.

6. California Residents (CCPA)

If you're a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

  • The right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it
  • The right to request deletion of your personal information
  • The right to opt out of the "sale" of your personal information (we don't sell personal information)
  • The right to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

To exercise these rights, contact us with "CCPA Request" in your message.

7. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, contact us and we'll delete it.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, but no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we'll always do our part to handle your information responsibly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes, we'll do our best to notify you directly.
